Cawley keeps it classy in lead up to Ottolino fight, plans to let fists ‘do the talking’

Megan “Killa” Cawley urged her teammate, Felicia Spencer, to call out Megan Anderson during her post-fight interview at Invicta FC 30. Spencer followed through with a tasty verbal pipe bomb for the ages, leading to a UFC call-up and big-money purse to fight the Aussie inside the world-famous Octagon.

But despite Cawley’s pot-stirring idea translating into big bucks for her teammate, and her Invicta FC 36 opponent Julia Ottolino’s penchant for spewing verbal vomit, “Killa” has decided to keep it classy in the lead up to her professional MMA debut.

That MMA Show reached out to Cawley on social media, in an attempt to get comment on Ottolino dropping her name in a boastful post on Instagram. Following the last Invicta FC event, Ottolino famously called out Chelsea Chandler, while also declaring that Cawley doesn’t want her “smoke.”

Cawley saw the post, but she refused to engage in a war of words. The Floridian told That MMA Show that she plans to let her “fighting do the talking.” Even without fun smack-talk to hype the fight, Cawley vs. Ottolino should be an entertaining affair between high-level prospects.

Both ladies will be making their professional debut in a must-see bantamweight affair to kick off the card.

With the UFC in desperate need of fresh blood at 135 pounds in the women’s division, Cawley vs. Ottolino comes at the perfect time. The winner will be in prime position for a call up to the big show — or at least another high-profile Invicta FC fight — by the end of 2019.

Invicta FC 36, emanating from Kansas City, Kan., streams live and exclusively on UFC Fight Pass at 7 p.m. CT on Aug. 9.
