Invicta FC 39 results: Atomweights prove it’s time for UFC to take notice

Atomweights stole the show at Invicta FC 39, proving to the world that their division is as exciting as any. With just six fights on the card and three featuring atomweights, the 105-ers had plenty of time to shine at Invicta FC 39.
In the five-round main event, all-time great Jinh Yu Frey scored a unanimous-decision win over Ashley Cummins. With the victory, she earns a shot at the title she vacated due to weighing in heavy for the Cummins bout.
Elsewhere in atomweight action, Alesha Zappitella picked up a decision win over Kelly D’Angelo, putting the Michigan star on the map as a top contender to challenge for atomweight gold sometime in the near future.
Additionally, New York star Jillian DeCoursey secured a victory in atomweight action.
