Atomweight legend Alesha Zappitella makes weight for Invicta FC 35
- Updated: June 6, 2019

Undefeated atomweight legend Alesha “Half Pint” Zappitella (5-0, 1 NC) made weight for her Invicta FC 35 fight against Viviane Pereira, hitting the scales at 106 pounds even.
The 24-year-old wrestling standout, one of the sport’s top young prospects, will be featured in the Invicta FC 35 co-main. A win against Pereira — a gritty UFC veteran who holds a 13-3 record against world-class competition — would undoubtedly earn “Half Pint” an atomweight title opportunity.
After grinding out back-to-back unanimous decision wins in her first two Invicta FC starts, Zappitella is on the rise and nearing the top of the ladder in the stacked 105-pound division. Beating Pereira could mean a fight later this year against Minna Grusander or Jihn Yu Frey.
Invicta FC 35 will be headlined with a flyweight collision pitting DeAnna Bennett against Karina Rodriguez, in what is arguably the promotion’s most hotly-anticipated rematch of all-time. Bennett weighed in at 125.3, while her adversary tipped the scales at 125.4.
