Knapp reveals target date for Invicta FC 35

Invicta Fighting Championships waltzes back into our lives with a star-studded show on June 7.

Invicta FC president Shannon Knapp was the one to break the news, revealing the target date for Invicta FC 35 during a recent appearance on TJ DeSantis’ “Beatdown” show.

The host city and venue for Invicta FC 35 have not yet been announced. Additionally, no fights have been made public for the card. However, Knapp did spill the beans that the event will be headlined with a world title fight.

At this point, it’s anyone’s guess which title will headline the card. With Felicia Spencer and Virna Jandiroba both recently vacating their Invicta FC belts to sign with the UFC, and bantamweight champ Sarah Kaufman signing with PFL, the flyweight and/or atomweight belts are most likely to be put on the line at Invicta FC 35.

The promotion’s next scheduled event is set for May 3, with a single-elimination “Phoenix Rising” tournament to determine a new top contender at strawweight. Despite some initial speculation, “Phoenix Rising” will not be catalogued as Invicta FC 35.

The tournament series will be a separate entity from the numbered Invicta FC events, according to Knapp. Fans should keep an eye out for an official announcement from the promotion, in the days and weeks ahead, regarding Invicta FC 35’s host city and fight card.
